SPCA evaluating third pit bull found during Westwood attack that injured 6-year-old

A third dog found at the scene of a pit bull attack in Westwood last week is being held at the Cincinnati SPCA for evaluation.

The two other dogs, which police identified as pit bulls, mauled 6-year-old Zainabou Drame outside her home in the 2900 block of Aquadale Lane about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 4. Officers shot and killed the dogs at the scene.

Cincinnati police said two people were using the pit bulls to guard a drug operation at a house near the area where Drame was attacked. They have been charged with drug and weapon offenses.

The third dog, a male American pit bull mix, was removed from the home by authorities. Investigators don’t believe he was involved in the attack.

The dog, who is not named, was caged Tuesday at the SPCA’s kennel No. 14.
