Brutus the pit bull responds badly to having his face rubbed in urine by mauling his Lilydale owner

A LILYDALE man was mauled by his pet dog after he reacted angrily when it peed on him.

Knox CIU Detective Senior Sergeant Neil White said Lilydale uniform officers were called to the home on Maroondah Highway, Lilydale on Saturday at 9.30pm.

Sergeant White said the man was asleep when his American pit bull, called Brutus, peed on him.

The man grabbed the dog and rubbed his face in the urine, and the dog then bit him on the cheek and arm.

The man suffered deep lacerations and was taken via ambulance to Maroondah Hospital to undergo microsurgery for puncture wounds.

Two of the man’s family members also suffered minor puncture wounds as they tried to drag the dog away.
