Officer Shoots Agressive Pit Bull – News – 1330 WHBL Sheboygan’s News Radio

A Sheboygan police officer shot and wounded a pit bull that attacked him Wedneday night.  Lt. Scott Mittelstadt said police received a call about 7 o’clock that there was an aggressive pit bull at large in the area of North 4th and Superior Avenue.  Mittelstadt said an officer was dispatched and located the dog on the grass near the sidewalk.  That’s when the dog came at  the officer who shot and wounded him at close range.  The officer suffered a minor abrasion when he fell as he attempted to retreat from the dog.  Mittelstadt said the dog’s owner was located and he took the dog for medical attention.  The incident remains under investigation.
