Kayla Chambers said one of her children left the door open to their McLoud home, and a stray dog came inside.

“It got my back and bit it four times, and I tried to kick it and it got my leg.” Adeline said.

“I just grabbed a big metal box and hit it in the head.” Kayla said. “Probably it took about 50 times before it let go of her. He probably had her a good three, four minutes.”

Kayla continued fighting the dog until she got everyone in their van to go to the emergency room.

“When I saw how bad it was, I panicked pretty bad.” Kayla said.

“It really hurt when, like, the doctors touched it.” Adeline said.

Almost 100 stitches later, Adeline is physically recovering, but her mental scars might be more permanent.

“I’m scared another dog’s just going to come along and tear my other leg open, probably.” She admitted.

Kayla says their area is a hot spot for dumping animals, and she wants it to stop.

“It makes me mad and I want, I wish that whoever did let the dog out would have to pay for it because it’s not right.” Kayla said.

Deputies were able to find the dog that attacked Adeline, but had to shoot it because it tried attacking them.

Thankfully, the dog tested negative for rabies.
