A dog attacked a woman and bit her ear off Monday afternoon, according to a police report.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Nadine Street in Orlando, as stated in the report.
According to the police report, 20-year-old Hershey Myers and her sister were playing in their living room with their dog, a 6-year-old brown boxer named Duke, when out of nowhere Duke snapped on Myers and bit her multiple times.
Myers’ father, Larry Myers, told police that Duke bit off her right ear and bit her on the leg and nose.
Hershey Myers told officers that the attack happened when she tried to pet Duke. She said that the dog gave no signs of aggression, did not growl and that she was not doing anything to Duke that would cause him to bite her.
Larry Myers and his wife said that Duke has never showed signs of aggression toward anyone and that they were shocked.
Larry Myers relinquished custody of Duke and said that he wanted the dog humanely euthanized.
Myers was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. No information on her condition has been released.
