Three-year-old hurt in dog attack | Mail Online

A three-year-old girl has been left with facial injuries after being mauled by a dog.

The child was walking with her sister when she was bitten by the animal in Redditch, Worcestershire, West Mercia Police said.

The dog, which was tied up outside a shop, is described as being a white or grey-coloured greyhound or a whippet-type breed.

The animal’s owner, who police say fled the scene, is now being sought by officers.

The incident happened near the town’s Matchborough Centre, in Matchborough Way, at about 3.15pm on Friday July 11.

A police spokesman said: “We urgently need to speak with the owner as part of our enquiries.

“The owner has been described as being a man in his late 60 or 70s, of large build and wearing smart grey trousers and a light-coloured jacket.

“The owner refused to give his details and fled the scene.”

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call police on 101.
