Protest in response to PennLive article series about Pit Bull attacks – WHP CBS 21 Harrisburg – Featured Videos

Dozens of people gathered in Cumberland County today for a peaceful protest in support of Pit Bulls.

The group gathered outside the corporate headquarters of The Patriot News and PennLive in Hampden Township.

Organizers of the protest say they were contacted by PennLive for their expertise in Pit Bull behavior for a series of articles about Pit Bull attacks in the area.

The organizers say that the articles portrayed Pit Bull’s in a negative light, despite the information they provided.

“We want fair, balanced coverage. We understand that not everything is positive. We don’t want to see only the positive, fair is fair, but we aren’t being given our fair say,” said Lori Zimmer of BAD PRESS, an organization dedicated to debunking myths about certain dog breeds.

In an article in response to the protest, PA Media Group, PennLive’s parent company, said the organization stands behind the series.
