Madison man charged after girl attacked by dogs – Madison County Eagle: News

A week after a local teenager was bitten multiple times by several dogs, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies have charged a Madison County man.

According to Madison County Sheriff Erik Weaver, Martin C. Martino has been charged with six felony counts stemming from the July 14 incident. The charges are filed under Virginia Code Section 3.2-6540.1, vicious dogs.

In a press release Wednesday morning, Sheriff Weaver said the short (unofficial) description of the charges are: vicious dogs, owner reckless, cause serious injury.

The charges were issued as a result of an ongoing dog bite investigation since last Monday’s incident.

Martino was taken before a magistrate and released on an unsecured bond. His court appearance is set for July 31 in Madison County General District Court.

Weaver added that the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 948-5161.
