Man cited for dog law violations » Updates » New Castle News

A Wampum man was cited for multiple violations after one of his dogs bit a jogger.

Daniel Richard Parshall of 137 Fletcher Hill Road, also was charged for failing to have current vaccines against rabies for two of his dogs, as required by law.

According to citations filed in the office of District Judge David Rishel, Parshall failed to keep Skipper, a mixed-breed dog, under quarantine, as required by law. The citation stated Skipper should have been under quarantine after biting someone July 5. However, the citation said, the dog ran onto Snake Run Road in Shenango Township about 11:30 a.m. July 13 and bit a jogger.

Parshall also was cited for failing to have proof that Skipper and George, a golden retriever, have current rabies vaccines.

He also was cited for failing to have Skipper and Charlie, a black retriever, confined to his premises July 5, as required by law.

Charges were filed Monday by the county’s dog law officer.
