A dog bit a customer as she walked into a North Olmsted pet store, police said.
The woman said that on July 29 she was walking through the entrance to PetSmart when she passed a white and brown boxer and its owner exiting the store. The dog bit her left leg, a police report said.
The woman said she spoke with the dog’s owner and found he brought it to PetSmart for obedience training. The staff told the owner that the dog needed behavior training first, the police report said.
Police contacted the owner to make sure the dog was current on its vaccinations and he provided proof that the dog was given a rabies shot on July 10, according to the report.
An animal bite report was sent to the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.
The 17-month-old dog is named Katie, police said. The owner will not face charges.
