A Cook County woman is suing over claims she was injured while walking her dog when a dog running loose attacked her.

Constance Nowicki filed a lawsuit July 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Stephanie Burns and Sergio Carbrarales.

According to the complaint, Nowicki was walking her dog on the Illinois Prairie Path near 51st Avenue in the Village of Hillside on Aug. 5, 2012, when she was attacked by the defendants’ dog, which was running loose.

She accuses Burns and Carbrarales of negligence and violating the Illinois Animal Control Act.
