Woman hospitalized after vicious dog attack near Greenspoint area | News – Home

A woman was hospitalized after a vicious dog attack near the Greenspoint area.

The dog that mauled the woman is in the custody of animal control. Neighbors say two pit bulls have been roaming the neighborhood since 7 a.m. Wednesday. They were being watched by a couple who live in the neighborhood who say the dogs are usually locked up but somehow they managed to get out.

At around 12:30 p.m., a woman had just returned home from the grocery store and was unloading groceries. She spotted the dogs and tried running to her front door, but that is when the bigger male dog ran after her and attacked her.

Neighbors heard the woman screaming and banging on her front door trying to get inside.

“She was coming from the grocery store, so she stepped out of the car with two bags in each hand, so she couldn’t defend herself at all. She got bitten in her arm and her breast, she screamed, so her kids came out to try to drag the dogs away, but it wasn’t very successful,” said neighbor Abraham Enriquez.
