A 50-year-old Eugene woman was seriously injured Tuesday night after being attacked by a pitbull-boxer mix, Eugene police said this morning.

The 74-pound dog bit the woman in the arm after she allegedly trespassed at a residence on the 400 block of Blair Boulevard just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Eugene police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin said. She was transported to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield.

The dog held onto the woman’s arm until the owner secured the animal, McLaughlin said. The owner posted several signs on the property, warning about a potentially dangerous dog, she said.

McLaughlin said the woman was cited in lieu of custody for second-degree criminal trespassing.
