Westchester County Police are advising residents that a dog that is possibly a pitbull mix escaped late Monday morning from SPCA of Westchester on North State Road in Briarcliff Manor.

The dog is brown colored and weighs between 50 and 60 pounds, according to police. It is not friendly and will bite if approached, police said.

Police warn residents not to attempt to catch or handle the animal and to call 911D immediately if they see it.
