Person hospitalized after pit bull attack in Orange County, deputies say | Local News – WESH Home

A person was hospitalized after a dog attack in Orange County on Friday night, deputies said.

The attack involving a pit bull happened in the 500 block of Gerard Avenue, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the dog attacked a 54-year-old man and charged at deputies who were assisting the victim. A deputy fired at the dog, and the dog retreated, investigators said.

Animal Control officials are also investigating, deputies said.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital. Deputies said his injuries were non-life-threatening.
