From the smile on her face, you’d have a hard time understanding, but just listen to her talk and you’ll understand the love Marietta Glass has for her father, David.
“He always just wanted the best for us that’s would made him special,” she said.
Her dad was attacked, mauled to death by a group of pit bulls who were running free along Highway 7.
“He was chewed up pretty bad, marks all over him, left ear torn off, clothes torn off, shoes torn off,” said AA “Arnie” McMullen, the sheriff of Benton County.
The dogs’ owner, Eric Hodges, faces a type of manslaughter charge. He told us didn’t know how it happened, but his neighbors say he lets the dogs wander the streets all the time and it was bound to happen.
“Knowing my dad died from being eaten alive by a dog, that’s the worst part,” said David Glass, Jr.
Glass’ namesake says it’s just too much, their dad attacked this way, and just a few months ago, their cousin Derrick Sanders was murdered, and his body dumped along the same highway where their dad lay dying in a ditch.
“No other family going through what we’re going through, this is hard,” he said.
