Just out of the hospital, Hyronc Fleurme says his mother-in-law is coping.
Her hand is bandaged up, blood stains on her clothes and scratches on her chest. She may have to have surgery in the future.
“She said she can’t move it,” said Fleurme.
We’re told Fleurme’s 60-year-old mother-in-law was out for a walk when the neighbor’s dog reportedly attacked her early Friday morning.
“The dog come here and just bit her,” said Fleurme.
Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control picked up the pitbull named Diamond. The dog’s owner wouldn’t comment, but the ACC says this is not the first time the dog’s owner has reportedly gotten into trouble.
ACC’s Diane Suave said the owner has had problems with other dogs she’s owned in addition to Diamond.
“It appears there were two other incidents involving mia knocked a person down, no injuries, went after another dog. and a third incident when smoke jumped the fence and tried to attack a dog,” said Suave.
Diamond was already labeled as potentially dangerous after a May incident.
“I would certainly say there is an issue here with responsible dog ownership that needs to be addressed,” said Suave.
Sauve added it will take a few weeks for the investigation to be complete. They will turn the case over to the State Attorney’s Office.
