A woman is recovering from a dog bite Monday night after she tried to defend her dog that was attacked and killed by two others.
About 3:32 p.m., police got a 911 call about a woman attacked by two dogs at a Chevron gas station at the corner of Ponce De Leon Boulevard and South Broad Street, but police were never dispatched.
According to reports, the woman was walking her dog by the station as a truck pulled in with two dogs, and all of the dogs began to fight.
She tried to fight them off, and even got some help from a Samaritan who was able to punch the two dogs.
Later, the woman called paramedics to her home and she complained her hand had been bitten as she broke up the fight.
The owner of the two other dogs has been fined $400.
